Once a thorough understanding of Single Piece Flow is attained, workshop participants then apply this powerful production methodology to a portion of their value stream. Single Piece Flow is the most efficient method to deliver a product or service to a customer. By aggressively removing waste from a work area, participants are able to create a work cell with greatly improved lead time, productivity and quality levels. Operators work at a steady pace, thereby improving ergonomics and production predictability. Other benefits companies receive from implementing flow include reduced floor space utilization, better teamwork and a more visual workplace where previously hidden problems become visible.
Some of the techniques that workshop participants will learn include operator balancing, machine balancing, work cell layouts and waste identification.
